Weakness
SS by Cay
She dropped her bag on the floor and walked briskly up the stairs two at a
time. Stretching both hands out to the sides of the doorway, her fingertips
brushed against the wood and paint as she entered.
It took her less that a minute to get changed out of her clothes, it was a
long, hot day and she had just come home from a long walk.
Walking out of her room, she walked back downstairs and went straight
towards her fridge. Inspecting the contents, she frowns at the selection and
just unhooks a soda off the plastic binding. Walking into the next room, she
grabs the remote and begins to flip through the channels.
She smiles when she sees that America's Sweethearts is on. That movie always
did make her smile and besides, John Cusack was in it. You had to admit he's
pretty cute. She laughed at the antics of the characters in the movie and
watched comfortably as her muscles relaxed from the exercise. Fatigue kicked
in soon afterwords and her mind began to wander elsewhere. Her mind is no
longer on the movie, but on something else...someone else.
Her own sweetheart.
She missed them, she missed them so incredibly much. She yearned for what
she couldn't have so much that it slowly became an obsession with her.
It had been a couple of months since they had last talked. She knew that
they needed to go and she thought she would be alright. She promised them
that it would be alright. They both wanted to be the strong one and set an
example for the other. But she was hurting, hurting so much inside. She
didn't want anyone else to see her pain, she was supposed to be the strong
one of the two, remember? But she was wrong. She remembers when she told
them that she could handle a few months away from each other. She laughed
and smiled as she told them everything would be fine, that they would wait
for each other. But she feels so weak now. She needs them. She needs her
love.
Sometimes late at night she pities herself. I mean, someone so "strong" no
cries themselves to sleep at night, just wanting to be with another person.
When she finally drifts to sleep, she dreams about what it would be like
when they would finally get to be together. Night after night, she'll
continue to add to that picture she's conjured in her head until the day her
love comes back...showing just how much she needs them.
It's her only weakness.
