These Days

Summary-
Both were on MMC. After the show, they went on to be regular teenagers. When
Britney was just 15, her parents along with her aunt and uncle died in a
horrible car accident. Britney and her older brother Bryan, along with Laura
Lynn, had to help each other and bring up 6 year old Jamie Lynne alone. Justin
had a perfect life compared to Britney. They meant to keep in touch after the
show, but after a while, the phone calls and letters stopped. Four years later
the bump into each other, is that spark still there?
Chapter 1
Britney's POV
" Laura Lynne! Have you seen my work shirt?" Britney yelled.
" I think it's in the dryer Brit! " LL answered.
" Found it, thanks! " Britney said.
It was a hot, sunny Sunday, perfect for a day at the beach, but Britney had to
get to work. It was the summer vacation before college and as much as Britney
wanted to look forward to it, she didn't. She knows she might not be able to
have the regular college life. Ever since the accident 3 years ago, her and LL ,
with the help of older brother Bryan, has had to take care of each other,
including little Jamie Lynne whose only 9. Now that the girls are 18, they are
old enough to help JL but Bryan helps whenever he can, even though he has his
own life now.
" Alright guys, I'm leaving, I should be home by 5:30 " Britney said
as she kissed JL on the cheek.
" Ok, see ya later Brit " LL said.
Britney closed the door to their small home that they can actually afford being
only waitresses. She started up her car and went off to another day of work,
hoping she has a good day since the day before wasn't the greatest. Not only was
she sick, but messed up 3 orders and came very close to getting fired.
" I'll take you there...yayaya.. let me taake you there Ooooyaaa "
Britney sang during her drive to Orlando .
Singing that song brought up old memories of when she performed that song way
back when on The Mickey Mouse Club. That was the best time of her life and she
always wondered what might have happened if the accident never happened. Would
she be a star selling a million copies of a hit album? Winning Grammies or even
on tour somewhere? That was her dream to be a star, and that dream had to be put
on hold right now. Deep down, Britney was just scared.
" I wanna take you there! " Britney finished the song and laughed.
Whatever happened to everybody on the show? She knew that Christina was starting
out, and she was very happy for her, she knew she'd make it. But one person came
to mind every day and night ..that person was Justin.
Justin's POV
" I think that's about everything, thanks for helping me out guys "
Justin said to JC and Trace. Justin got a scholarship to UCF and decided it
would be good to come to Florida for a while since it was one of his favorite
places to go and a few friends were moving out of Tennessee to go down there
also. He just got in yesterday and was unloading a bunch of things for his
apartment he was staying in.
" No problem dude, it's awesome that you are here, college is gonna rock!
haha " JC said.
" Hell Yeah man ! " Trace , Justin's best friend, shouted as he was
jumping on the bed.
Justin laughed at his crazy friends. He shook his head and smiled, wondering
what he just put himself into.
After MMC, Justin went back to Memphis and continued as a regular teenager,
including going to high school, which was a big deal because he was always home schooled.
Singing has always been a big deal to him, but he realized, he didn't want to be
famous and do what he thought he wanted anymore. His real passion was video
making. His plan was to be a director and make music videos and movies.
" Well hey dude, we gotta go but be ready at 4 so we can go grab something
to eat and head out. " JC told Justin. The guys were gonna stay in Miami
for a few days to check out a couple studios.
" Alright guys see ya later " Justin said. After they left, Justin
decided to spend some extra time unpacking and start putting stuff where he
wanted it
1 hour later...
Justin was about to get into the shower when he saw a box that he forgot about.
He walked over to the box that said " B ". In the box was a bunch of
pictures and memories that all had to do with his first love, Britney. He
laughed to himself when he realized his mom must have put this with all his
stuff, because he didn't even remember packing it up. He came upon a tape that
Britney sent him a month after the show was done. It's been so long since he
watched it, he barely remembers what was on it. He plugged in his VCR and put
the tape in. It was her a tape of her goofing off with her friends and then a
little something with just her.
" Hi J! How are you? I miss you so much " Justin smiled at how
beautiful she was . They were best friends and after a while, they stopped
staying in touch. He doesn't even know why or how it happened.
" Well I figured this would be a cool way to say hi and anytime you think
of me, just put this tape in and know I'm always with you."
Britney said in the little voice that was once this little girl who is now
almost grown up. The tape continued with her saying how everybody was doing fine
and that they say there hellos to him and his mom. She went on saying she is so
excited about going school shopping .
" She was always the shopper, God, I love that girl " Justin thought.
" Ok well I guess I'll let you go now, give me a call when you get this ok?
" She smiled " Love you bye " She blew him a kiss and the tape
ended.
