My Valentine
SS by Diane
"Hello?"
"Oh hey Brit.
Sorry if I woke you." Justin stammered hearing Britney's groggily voice.
Britney suddenly sat
up eyes widen.
"Justin? No,
that's ok.. Is there something wrong?" A hint of worry laced Britney's
voice.
"No,
everything's fine."
Relief went through
Britney.
"Ok.. Then
what's the reason for your call?"
A few seconds of
silence passed by as Britney heard only the sound of Justin breathing.
"Justin?"
"Oh uhm.. You're
in LA right?"
"Yea."
Justin had no idea
why he was so nervous to ask her.
"Would you like
to meet up with me for lunch maybe?" He finally stuttered out.
Britney didn't know
what to say.
"I take that as
a no. Sorry if I bothered you." Justin said disappointedly.
"Wait no, don't
go." Britney said quickly. "I'd love to have lunch with you."
Oh god, what am I
getting myself into. Britney thought to herself.
"Really?"
Justin brightened as relief passed through his body.
"Yes really. Why
not?" Britney smiled.
"Ok that's
great. How about 12 PM at the Ivy?"
Britney looked over
at the alarm clock reading 9:46 AM.
"Sounds good.
I'll see you there then."
"Ok bye,
Brit."
"Bye
Justin."
'Wow, I wonder what
this is all about.' Britney put down her cell phone and stared at it.
A sudden knock on the
door startled her as she quickly got back from her thoughts.
"I'm
coming."
Britney opened the
door to see Fe standing there with a fresh cup of coffee.
"Hey boo, did I
wake you?"
"Hi Fe. No, I
was already awake. Just got off the phone with someone." Britney smiled as
Fe handed her the cup of hot coffee. "Thanks for the coffee."
"You're welcome
sweetie. Was that someone anyone special?" Fe winked.
Britney laughed
softly.
"Well yeah I
guess you can say he's pretty special."
They continued to
walk back inside her hotel suite as they sat down on the sofa.
Fe smiled and nodded
waiting for Britney to say anything else.
"Fe."
"Yes Brit?"
"Justin. It was
Justin. He invited me to have lunch with him today." Britney stared down at
her hands.
Fe gasped.
"Oh really?
That's nice." Fe smiled brightly.
"Yeah but I'm
not so sure about it all, you know? I don't know if I'm doing the right
thing."
"Well Britney.
All I can say is. You two enjoy today."
Britney looked at Fe
curiously and furrowed her eyebrows.
"C'mon boo.
Don't tell me you forgot what today is." Fe opened her mouth in surprise.
"What Fe? Today.
Not anyone's birthday I don't think.."
"Britneeeey.
It's Valentine's day!" Fe squealed touching Britney's knee.
"Oh my god. Feb
14th, it is. I can't believe I didn't remember that." Britney laughed.
Britney's face
suddenly turned serious.
"Fe, if it's
Valentine's day, shouldn't he be doing stuff with Cameron? She wouldn't be happy
if I was having lunch with him. Or what if she's going to be there? What if
they're just going to tell me some news and -"
Fe cut her off.
"Britney. Enough with the What If's. The only way to find out if that you
talk to him. I personally don't think she's gonna be there with him."
Britney nodded her
head slowly.
"Yeah. We'll
see."
A knock came on the
door once again.
Britney stood up,
"I'll get it."
"Room service.
Hmm, I didn't order anything yet." Britney said as she opened the door to
find a young man in a white uniform outfit.
"Hey, what can I
do for you?" Britney smiled at him.
"Hi, Ms.
Spears?"
"Yes."
"I have some
deliveries for you." The young man smiled softly as he took the bouquet of
flowers from the cart.
Britney gasped softly
as he handed her the flowers.
"Aww. Oh wow. My
favorite pink and white roses with long stems of white tulips."
"Thank you. Was
there a card or note with it?"
"No ma'm. Unless
it's tucked on there somewhere. But other than that, there's all it is."
The young man nodded.
"Ok thank
you." Britney smiled softly.
"No
problem." The young man waved and left to his other tasks.
Britney closed the
door behind her and smelled the flowers.
"Oh my. Those
are so beautiful!" Fe exclaimed as Britney walked back towards her.
"Yes aren't
they." Britney smiled.
"Who are they
from?"
"Fe, there's
only one person who me these exact same flowers."
"Justin."
Fe's eyes widened again.
"Hmm mm."
Britney nodded still gaping at the flowers.
"Wow." Fe
said giddily excited as to what she thought was gonna happen.
--
Justin sat looking
around at the Ivy. He smiled to himself as he recalled some special memories he
had here with her. He looked at his watch.
11:56.
She should be here
soon, he thought.
"Hey sir, are
you ready to order?" A waitress came by.
"No, I'm waiting
for someone." He smiled.
"Ok no problem.
I'll come back in a little bit." The waitress smiled back as she walked
off.
Justin picked up a
magazine that was laying in the center of the table and began flipping through
it.
He looked up when he
heard someone clear their throat.
"Brit." He
smiled standing up to hug her.
"Hey
Justin." She smiled wrapping her arms around his neck and smelled that
familiar scent of him.
"You look
beautiful." Justin said as they pulled away.
"You don't look
so bad yourself." Britney giggled.
After they pulled
away, they both sat down in their chairs, feeling that awkward tension.
"So, uhm. How
are you?"
Light conversation,
Britney thought.
"I'm good.
You?"
"Good."
Britney nodded.
They picked up their
menu and started to look through it."
"I think I'll
have what I usually get, the shrimp special." Britney skimmed through the
menu.
Justin nodded,
"Yeah me too."
Just then, the
waitress came by back again.
"Hi. Are you
ready to take your orders?" The girl smiled.
Britney and Justin
looked up at her.
"Yes. We'll both
have the shrimp special and some salad." Justin smiled.
"Ok sounds good.
Would you two like to have our special Valentines Day dessert with that?"
"That'd be
awesome." Justin grinned.
"All righty.
We'll have your food ready in a few. By the way, you two look so cute." The
girl giggled.
Britney blushed and
smiled.
"Well, thank
you. I think the beautiful one here is her though." Justin nodded to
Britney.
"Justin."
Britney blushed. "Aww that's sweet of you," She smiled at the girl.
The girl smiled and
nodded, going back to the kitchen.
"So uhm, Justin.
I wanted to ask you something." Britney nervously fidgeted with her hands
on her lap.
"Ok."
Justin said encouraging her to go on.
"I .. I'm
confused. I don't know what all this is about. And I was just reminded this
morning that it's Valentine's Day today. I can't believe I didn't
remember," Britney chuckled softly, " And well, why are you here with
me? Shouldn't you be with someone? Especially on this special day.."
Justin took a deep
breath.
"First of all, I'm
not with her anymore. So no, there's no one for me to be with on this special
day. Except only one person I've always only wanted to be with especially on
this day." Justin smiled softly.
Britney looked up at
him.
"Oh. You and
Cameron -"
"Yes. We broke
up. So you don't have to worry about her because she's no longer part of my
life." Justin took Britney's hands that were now resting on the table.
"Oh ok. I'm
sorry."
"For what?"
"I don't
know."
Justin chuckled,
"Typical Britney. Always apologizing in the wrong moments."
"Shut up."
Britney glared then laughed.
"I missed
that." Justin said softly.
"What?"
"Your smile and
that laugh."
"Oh,"
Britney blushed, "I missed you too, - I mean your smile and laughter."
Britney corrected herself.
Justin chuckled,
"I know what you mean. Britney, god you don't know how much I really do
miss you," He took her hands in his and stared into her eyes.
Chills went up
Britney's spine.
God, he's the only
one who could ever do this to me. Britney thought to herself.
"I.. I miss you
too Justin. So much."
They stared into each
others eyes as they both slowly started to lean in over the table.
Justin tilted his
head to the side and their lips were a couple inches apart.
They both jumped and
suddenly pulled away when they heard someone clear their throat.
"Sorry to
interrupt. But I have your food ready." A waiter smiled, taking the plates
out of the tray.
Britney and Justin
laughed softly and smiled at him.
"Those look
delicious, thank you," said Britney.
"Yes. You don't
have the best timing but thanks." Justin winked.
"Justin."
Britney glared.
Justin laughed and
put his hands up in defeat, "I'm kidding man, I'm kidding. You have a great
day today." Justin smiled at the waiter.
"Thanks,"
The young man chuckled, "Seems like you two will have a really good one
today too." With a wink he walked off.
Britney laughed
softly, shaking her head.
"What?"
Justin mumbled after a bite of his food.
"Nothing. He was
a cute one."
Justin raised an
eyebrow.
Britney pretended to
ignore him and took a bite out of her food.
When she looked up,
she found his eyes still staring at her.
"What?"
"Ya know, its
not nice to hit on waiters when you're having lunch with your own date."
"What? I wasn't
hitting on him. I just said he was cute." Britney stated.
Justin sighed and
went back to eating his food.
"I guess that
hasn't changed," Britney said trying not to smile.
"What are you
talking about?"
"Your
jealousy."
"I wasn't
jealous."
"That's not what
I'm seeing." Britney raised her eyebrows.
"What's there to
be jealous of? I'm the one having lunch with Britney Spears." Justin stated
matter-of-factly.
Britney laughed.
"I guess
so."
After a few minutes
of eating in silence, Justin spoke up.
"Do you have
anything planned for today?"
"I don't think
so," Britney looked up at him. "Why?"
"I was just sort
of wondering," Justin cleared his throat. "If you want to come to my
house and just hang out you know?"
A smile slowly crept
among Britney's face.
"That.. that
sounds great. I'd love to."
Britney noticed
Justin's face relax and was smiling at her with the most genuine smile.
After they were
finished eating, the waiter brought on the receipt and Justin gave him his
credit card.
They walked together
to the back to get their cars.
"So uh. You can
just follow me." Justin unlocked his car and looked over at Britney a few
parking spaces to the right.
"Ok."
Britney smiled.
Britney parked her
car behind Justin's on the driveway to his garage.
She closed her eyes
for a few seconds and thought about what she was doing.
She jumped slightly
startled by the knock on the window.
"Hey, you ok in
there?" Justin had a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm
fine," Britney smiled at him as she unlocked her door.
Justin stood back as
she climbed out.
"You sure? You
know if you don't want to do this, it's ok. I mean -"
"Justin, I'm
fine." Britney cut him off.
"Brit, we may
not have been together for a while but that doesn't mean I know you any less. I
can see it in your eyes that something's wrong," Justin placed his hands on
her shoulders and looked deeply into her eyes. "What is it?"
Britney looked down
and sighed.
"Can we talk
inside?"
Justin kept his eyes
on her and nodded, "Yeah, let's go."
Britney followed him
into his house. He motioned for her to sit on the couch and she did so.
Justin sat beside her
and waited for her to talk.
"Justin.. I'm. I'm
just scared. I don't know where this next step is taking us. I know part of me
likes it and wants it but the other part just wants to hold back. I don't want
to go through any pain like that ever again."
Justin nodded and put
his hands softly on hers, "I feel the same way, Brit. Exactly the same way.
But, don't you think we still have something? Don't you feel that our love is
worth taking a risk for?"
"Our love."
Britney said softly.
"Yeah. You.. you
do still love me right?"
Britney stayed silent
for a few seconds.
"Oh god. I
didn't know. I thought, I thought. I'm sorry, I was wrong to think we could work
it out. I thought there was still love. I shouldn't have - "
Britney placed her
lips over his to cut him off his ramblings. The kiss grew intense as she opened
her mouth more for him.
She pulled away to
catch her breath.
"Wow. What was
that for?" Justin whispered still shocked by her sudden move.
"I still love
you, Justin. I never stopped and I never will." Britney finally managed to
say.
A smile crept on
Justin's face as he leaned back down to touch her lips with his.
"I missed
you." He mumbled against her lips.
"I missed you
too." Britney giggled leaning in to continue the kiss.
They spent most of
the afternoon just watching TV and sharing intimate kisses.
"So we're really
going to work it out." Britney leaned her head against his shoulder.
"You say that
like it's a question." Justin chuckled, "Of course baby. We were meant
to be." Justin smiled turning his head to kiss her softly on the head.
"I'm glad. I've
never been as happy as I am when I'm with you."
"Me too. Only
you can make me truly happy."
Britney giggled as
she looked at his eyes, then down to his lips. She captured his mouth with her
own as he continued to deepen their kiss.
She straddled his lap
with his hands rubbing on her thighs. She started kissing down to his neck
making him moan softly.
Justin couldn't take
it anymore so he rolled them over so that he was laying on top of her on the
couch. He started kissing her neck, her hands caressing his newly growing curls.
Just as he was
placing his hands under her shirt, the phone rang.
"Damn."
Justin muttered as he rested his forehead against hers and gave her a short kiss
before he got up to get the phone.
Britney giggled and
sat up.
"Hello?" He
said with a little annoyance in his voice.
"Got you at a
bad time?" Cameron said over the phone.
"What? Why'd you
call?" Justin said irritated.
"Damn, Justin.
Just wanted to see how you were doing."
"Well, I'm doing
great. Better than ever. Bye. And don't call me again." Justin was about to
click off the phone.
"What the hell
is your problem? Don't you miss me at all?" Cameron spat.
"No, I don't.
Please, just leave me alone ok?"
"You know you
want me back." Cameron said huskily.
"Goodbye
Cameron." Justin rolled his eyes and hung up on her.
Justin started
walking back towards the couch where Britney was sitting.
"Cameron?"
Britney raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah. Don't
worry about her. I want nothing to do with her." Justin softly smiled and
kissed the side of her temple.
"Ok. But what
did she want?"
"Me."
Justin laughed.
"Hah. But who
doesn't?" Britney winked.
"I don't care
who does. Just as long as you do."
"That's good.
Same goes for me." Britney smiled.
They leaned in for
another passionate kiss.
"What do you
want to eat for dinner?" Justin asked Britney as he took a glance at the
kitchen.
"Hmm. I want to
cook something for you."
"Oh really. As
long as it can't kill me then I'll be up for it."
Britney laughed as
she slapped his arm playfully.
"No, really.
I've learned how to cook some good stuff." Britney raised her eyebrows up
and down.
"Very well then.
I'd love to try some of Miss Britney's hot cookin'."
Britney giggled,
"Ok. I'll look in your kitchen to see what you have." Britney said
standing up.
Justin followed her
and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"From what I can
see, I think I'll be able to make some spicy chicken, rice, and mashed
potatoes."
"Mm. Sounds
really good."
"I'm going to
need some things from the store though. Do you think you can get me some pepper,
gravy, and lettuce?"
"Of course. Let
me go get my keys and I'll be right back."
"Ok, and I'll
get started on what I can with these. Thanks sweetie."
"Yep. I can't
wait to see what you make." Justin smiled as he leaned down to give Britney
a quick kiss on the lips.
Britney slapped his
butt, "Hurry up."
Justin laughed,
"I'll be getting you back for that."
"And I'll be
waiting," Britney laughed.
"Oh wait. One
more thing!" Britney yelled as he opened the door, "Get some ice
cream."
"How could I
forget," Justin laughed. "All right baby I'll be right back."
Britney began to get
out the pots and pans and start preparing the stuff she needed.
She started to sing
as she put vegetables in the pot and mixing them. She was frying chicken in the
other pan.
After about 20
minutes of cooking, she heard the doorbell ring.
"What'd he do
with his keys." Britney mumbled to herself.
She put her mitten
off and went to get the door.
"That was kind
of quick." She laughed.
She stopped shortly
and her eyes widened as she saw who was in front of her.
"Cameron. What
are you doing here?"
"Britney? I
should be asking you that question." Cameron glared.
"I'm here with
Justin."
"Oh really.
We'll see about that." Cameron scoffed as she shoved her way in.
"You should
leave. I don't think neither of us want you here." Britney said as calmly
as she could.
"No, I think you
should leave. Justin doesn't need you. For a long time now he hasn't."
"That shows how
much you know." Britney said getting angry.
"Yeah I do know.
He loves me, not you. Can't you get that over in your little head?" Cameron
stepped forward.
"Cameron, you
and Justin are over. He told me that, and I know that. So what you're doing
here, I don't know. But it's best if you just go." Britney pointed to the
door.
"Uh no. I don't
think so. What's that smell? You cooking something?" Cameron looked towards
the kitchen.
"Oh my god. I better go check on it." Britney rushed to the kitchen
and turned off the stove.
Cameron laughed as
she followed her in the kitchen, "So this little bitch can cook?"
Britney just glared
at her and muttered under her breath, "Like you can do anything."
Cameron heard this as
she moved forward to where Britney was standing.
"What was
that?"
"Nothing."
"Oh I heard
you."
"Good for you.
What are you going to do about it?" Britney retorted.
Cameron fumed, her
hand went across Britney's face.
"What the fuck
is going on in here?!" Justin yelled as he rushed over to Britney, shoving
Cameron away.
"Brit, baby are
you ok?" He ran his hand softly over her face looking upset.
"I'm ok."
Justin turned around
and walked towards Cameron.
"What the hell
are you doing here?! And how dare you to put your hands on her!" Justin
fumed still walking towards her.
"Oh hi,
Justin." Cameron smiled nervously.
"Don't fucking
play with me, you bitch."
Cameron gasped,
"Did you just call me a bitch?"
"Yes I did. You
know you are damn lucky I was brought up to never hit girls." Justin
pointed a finger at her.
"Fuck you. And
fuck that slut over there." Cameron trembled pointing a finger at Britney.
Justin pulled her
hand down, "Don't ever call her anything like that."
Cameron just laughed
and shook her head.
"Just get the fuck out of here, Cameron. I don't ever want to see your damn
face near my sight or Britney's ever again. You understand? Or there will be
some serious trouble." Justin said angrily.
"Whatever.
You're delusional."
"Just get out
damn it. NOW."
Cameron glared at him
and Britney both as she walked out of the house.
Justin just stood
there breathing heavily until they heard her car get out of the driveway.
He suddenly turned
around facing Britney as he leaned down to hug her close.
"I'm so sorry
about that." Justin said softly placing kisses all over her face.
"It's all right,
Justin. I'm ok, a little shocked but ok." She smiled at him, "Are you
ok? You were a little tense."
"I know. I'm ok
though. I just can't stand anyone to hurt you. Especially physically like
that."
"I'm a toughie.
You should know that." Britney laughed.
Justin laughed with
her. He took her face in his hands and looked solemnly into her beautiful brown
eyes.
"I love
you."
Britney bit her lip,
tears started to form in her eyes.
"I love you
too."
Justin smiled and
leaned down, kissing her deeply.
He pulled away
softly, and looked at her with the most gorgeous eyes going deep into her soul.
