Knock Knock Knock
“Britney, are you ready sweetie,” Fe asked from outside the door way.
A long silence emanated from the room.
“Yeah, I’ll be out in a second,” Britney said through the door.
“Okay, we’ll be waiting downstairs,” Fe said and she turned away.
A few minutes later, Britney emerged down the staircase and walked towards the hundreds of fans and photographers that were waiting outside her hotel. She quickly got into the car and they sped away towards yet another sold out concert.
The ride to the arena was very quite. Britney’s gaze remained at the passing landscape as they drove.
“Boo, are you okay sweetie? You look kind of tired,” Fe asked.
“I'm just tired. I didn’t sleep well last night,” Britney said never breaking her gaze outside.
“Do you want me to get you something so that you can sleep tonight?” Fe asked innocently.
“Oh yeah, that’s just what I need. Now I’ll be a drug addict too.” Britney snapped back.
“It was only a thought Britney. No need to get hostile about it,” Fe said, then dropped all conversation.
That night’s concert was the same as all the other concerts Britney has done recently. An amazing show, but it lacked a certain Britney type energy and vibe to it. It was still a good show to the public, but to everybody that knew Britney it was not a very good show. She was off and everybody around her knew it.
That night, nobody talked to her as they made their way to another hotel in another city. She sat quietly by herself and stared out the window almost the whole ride. After she was escorted by security to her room, Fe and Larry sat down to have a chat about Britney.
“What’s the matter with her?” Larry asked.
“I don’t know. I can’t get her to talk to me, and when she does talk it is one words answers or she is bitchy,” Fe said.
“Well something is wrong. She’s just not herself right now. I thought the time off would do her some good, but obviously she hasn’t had enough time off.”
“I think she just needs to be working and keeping busy. If she’s not doing anything, she only falls further down. She is depressed. That much I can tell, about what I don’t know. But I can tell that she is depressed about something,” Fe said.
“Well, I don’t want to get her into anything, if I can’t be one hundred percent sure that is will be able to take it. If this is how the tour is going to be, then I’m not sure what we’re going to do next,” Larry said.
“I don’t know either.”
Later that night, Fe went to check on Britney. As she approached her room, she could her crying coming from inside the room. Fe panicked when she heard this. Yeah, she had heard Britney cry before, but never this load. Britney hated people to know that she was crying.
“Britney, what’s the matter?” Fe said when she rushed through the door.
She found Britney on the floor curled in a ball crying.
Fe got down next to her and pulled her close.
“It will be okay Boo. Things will get better,” Fe said as she cradled Britney in her arms.
Britney stopped crying, pulled back, and looked at her.
“What if things don’t get better? What if I never find that one guy to fill this huge hole in my heart? What if I never find love again, Fe?” Britney said and then she started crying even harder than before.
“You’ll find him Boo. You’ll find him eventually. You just have to be patience. God’s plan will unfold itself in its proper time Boo. You just have to be patience,” Fe said as she continued to support Britney.
About an hour later, Britney finally stopped crying.
“I’m going to be going, Boo. You going to be okay?” Fe asked.
“Yeah, I will be fine,” Britney said as she took another bite of food for the first time that day.
As Fe was about to leave the room Britney said, “Fe, thanks.”
“Anytime Boo, you know that. Now let me see that patented Britney Spears smile of yours.”
“I’ve lost that smile Fe.” Britney said looking into her friend’s eyes.
