I Showed Her
SS by Cay

His fingers gripped the beer bottle tightly as his eyes watched the

flickering screen.

He hadn’t slept in quite a few days, surprising considering the number of

concerts he’s had these days. But lately, it’s all been the same. Put on his

show and then go back to the lonely tour bus with a bottle of beer by his

side and an empty couch waiting for him. So what was the point? The

adrenaline did nothing for him.

It amazes him how much the entertainment shows played her and followed her

around capturing her every movement. They bashed her, criticized her, put

her down in any way they could. But there’s one thing that they can’t deny

no matter how much they want to. Her smile.

Not the fake media pleasing smile, but the self satisfaction smile she wears

when she knows there’s camera’s all around her when she’s doing something

she isn’t supposed to. She flicks the end of her cigarette tauntingly and

continues smiling.

It seems to him that all she seems to do lately is to taunt him. He said

some wrong things, he knows that and he’s sorry. But she refuses to talk to

him, and it’s killing him every time she ignores him.

It kills him because he knows that she’s always been so good at avoiding

what the press says and going on with her own life. And now she’s doing it

to him.

He hasn’t ignored her though, he hears so many things about her, good or

bad, big or small, he’s heard it all.

Including the news of someone else in her life. True or false, he doesn’t

know. Anyone’s guess would be as good as his right now.

Ironic when you think about it considering he used to be the one person that

probably knew it all. Most of the times even the first one to know. But all

of that’s changed now. He’s said things that he can’t quite take back

completely and she’s moving on with her own life and hasn’t looked back

once. When his friends ask him if he’s ok, he lets his pride take over and

say everything’s fine. He’s doing great.

But he isn’t…but his pride won’t waver and he won’t ever back down. Because

he has to keep up with this charade until it kills him. And until then,

he’ll just have to repeat one thing to himself…”I showed her.”

It's catching up to me right now

Everything that I've said

The night I left her there

When I said I wanted out

I was angry and upset

And at the time I could care less about staying there

I had to prove I didn't care

As much as she thought I did

[Chorus:]

I showed her

I let my pride take me

Far away from the only woman I loved

I showed her

Now she has found someone new

And her life will go on

And I'm all alone

But I showed her

Oh oh oh

I hate that she's in love

But it took a while for her to get over the hurt

Now I know that I messed up

I was trying to give us time

But I see she took that time to find somebody else

What happened to the things she felt for me

Am I really a part of her past

[Chorus:]

I showed her

I let my pride take me far away

From the only woman I loved

I showed her

Now she has found someone new

And her life will go on

And I'm all alone

But I showed her

Woah oh oh's

[Chorus]

Now she has found someone new

And her life will go on

And I'm all alone

But I showed her
