Family Celebration Today was not a day to be sad Britney thought as she sat in her room. The whole family had been looking forward to this day, and in all honesty so had she. But today wasn't what she had expected it to be. She was here and she was alone. It was one of those times that she wished that she and Justin were just a normal couple. There was nothing that she regretted in her life except for that. When she heard the knock on the door she wiped her eyes of the tears that had stared to form. "Morning Brit" her mother said "Do you plan on coming down for breakfast?" she asked "I don't know mamma. I'm not the best company today" she said "Your brother will be disappointed" her mother said Britney took a deep breath "Okay, I'll be down in a few" she said as her mother walked out the door. A few minutes later Britney joined everyone else downstairs for breakfast. "Thanks for coming down, sis." Bryan said as he looked into the eyes of his sister "You miss him don't you" he asked "Yeah" she said as a single tear slide from her eye. "I really wish he were here. But work calls" she said almost sounding bitter. "Hey you two okay" he asked "Couldn't be better" she said as she twisted the ring that he had put on her finger for Christmas. "You know he would be here if he could" He said "I know, I guess I'm just felling sorry for myself" she said as they sat down to eat. An hour later the house began to fill with company. Some not as welcome as others. Britney was sitting our on the porch when she heard her name. "Hello Britney" She turned slowly because she knew who the voice belonged to. And she was not up to seeing him now. "Hello" she said "Is that all I get" Reg asked "I don't know. I mean I don't want my actions to be reported to every tabloid talk show around" she said "You have no right. I can say what I damn well please" he said "I'm an not going to stand here and argue with you about this" she said as she got you to leave. He grabbed her arm. "Where's prince charming" Reg asked "He's doing something that you don't know how to do. He's working" she said bitterly. "Oh and he left you all by yourself. Well this could prove very interesting" Reg said as his hands ran up and down her arms. "Get your hands off of me" she said as she jerked back falling over the porch swing "Get out of here" she screamed. "The only reason I'm not saying anything about this is because it's Bryan's big day. But if you ever try anything again " but she stopped when she saw her mother coming to the door. "Britney, telephone" she said "It's Justin" "Thanks mamma" Britney said as she went into the house. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Upstairs in her room- "Hello" she said into the phone "Hey babe how you doing" Justin asked "I'm okay, I just miss you that's all" she said "I miss you too" he said. He could tell that something was wrong, it was her voice she didn't sound as excited as she had when she had left. They talked for about an hour and the more they talked the more Justin could tell that something was bothering her. He really wanted to be with her. "J, I gotta go. Mamma's calling me" she said "I'll talk to you in the morning" she said "Yeah," he said "Give everyone my best" he said "I will" she said "Brit, I love you. I wish that I could be there with you" he said "But right now is just a bad time" he said "Oh, I understand" she said "Love you" she said "talk to you tomorrow" she said as she hung up the phone. Talking to Justin only made her miss him more. Meanwhile Justin was just as unhappy as Britney about the way things were. There was only one thing to do. He found the guys in Johnny's office. "Johnny I need to talk to you" he said "Sure what's up" he said "Well, I gotta leave tonight" he said "Oh you d o" was all Johnny said "Yeah I need to be with Brit" Justin said "Justin we are right in the middle of rehearsal" Johnny said "I don't care. I'm not asking you to leave, I'm telling you that I am" Justin said "And there is no way to stop you" Johnny asked "No, noway at all" Justin said "Okay fine" he said "Thanks" Justin said as he walked out the room. "Well it finally happened" Johnny said "What did" JC said "The day that you guys personal lives have become more important than your careers." he said "I see it happening more and more" He said as he sat and wondered what the next thing would be. That night at the rehearsal dinner Britney stayed to herself when she could. Even Laura Lynne couldn't seem to bring her out to enjoy the party. So she left early, tomorrow was a big day. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning this were crazy around the Spears household. Britney was in her room getting dressed. When her brother came to the door." Hey can I come in" he asked "Yeah sure" she said sitting at the vanity mirror trying to pin her hair up. "Not as easy as it looks ha" he said "No" was all she said as she fiddled with the pins trying to get them to go where she wanted them. But at the same time she was trying to hide the tears that she was crying. But he noticed anyway. "Hey Brit" he said turning her stool around to face him "Why the tears" he asked "I always cry at weddings" she said "Bull shit, besides the wedding hasn't even stared yet" he said looking at her. "Justin hasn't called yet" he asked "You know me so well" she said" he said that he would call early but he hasn't. It's almost noon if he doesn't call soon I won't talk to him at all today" she said as a tear tricked down her check. "Oh I see, well he'll call I'm sure" he said "But that's not all is it" he asked "That's all" she said as she turned away "Brit, is Reg is being an ass isn't he. I'll talk to him" he said "I don't want to ruin your day" she said "It will be if your unhappy" he said "Your the best big brother" she said as she stood and hugged him. "Hey, your not such a bad sis yourself" he said as he kissed the top of her head. "Hey watch the hair, I worked hard to get that like that" she said joking with him. "I'm glad to see you smile" he said " I don't want to ruin your day" she said to him "Just you being here " he said "Besides I'm taking notes "she said "That's right, your next ha" he said picking up her left hand and looking at the diamond that adorned his sisters finger. Just them before he could say anything their mother called form downstairs it was time to leave for the church. Once they got there Britney went to the room with the rest of the bridesmaids and the bride. Just before the wedding march started, a shadow of a figure moved in the back of the church. She recognized him at once. She was about to make her entrance when she went to him. "Justin" she said "I'm glad you could make it" she said as she hugged him. "But why are you sitting back here" she said "The fronts for family" he said "Honey you are family" she said as she took his hand "Would you walk me in" she asked. "But" he was about to say more but she stopped him. "I'd be honored" he said as he walked her in and took his place with the family. He greeted them all as best he could in as little time . When the music started the first sight that caught Justin's eye was Britney. My god she looked beautiful, but sad. He could tell that she hadn't seen him yet. Her smile didn't reach her eyes as much as she wanted it too. All she seemed to be thinking about is Justin. As she passed the first pew her mother reached out for her hand but still she didn't look up. She was trying hard to stay focused that way she wouldn't start crying. It wasn't until she had reached the alter that she saw him. He had come, he was there for her or was it just a mirage. She blinked her eyes and when she opened them again he was still standing there smiling at her. This day was getting better and better. The wedding flew by in a haze all Britney seemed to be able to concentrate on was Justin sitting in the front room. That night after everything was over and everyone was gone home, Britney and Justin sat out on the porch swing in each others arms. "Thank you for coming today" she said as she played with the bouquet that she had caught. He simply looked at her. "There was not another place where I would have been today" he said "I love you" he said "I love you too" she said just before he kissed her.
