Drinks
SS by Chris

“Yo, bartender,” Justin yells down the bar.

“How can I help you sir,” the bartender said standing in front of Justin.

“I would like to send another round of whatever they are drinking in the V.I.P. room,” Justin says

“Yes sir,” the bartender says, and then walks away to fill the order.

“Here you go Ms. Spears another round,” the waitress says setting the trey full of drinks down on the table.

“But I didn’t order anymore drinks,” Britney says as the waitress begins to leave.

“I know Ms. Spears.  The gentleman at the bar did,” the waitress says then turns around and leaves.

Britney goes to look out the window of the VIP room down to the bar to see who bought the drinks.  When she looks down she finds Justin sitting at the bar looking directly at her.  He raises his drink to her and then swallows it in one gulp.

Britney immediately left the VIP room to talk to him, but when she got to the bar, he was gone.

Britney just shrugged her shoulders and returned to the VIP room.

When it was time to go Britney went to pay the tab.

“Yo bartender, I’m ready to pay my tab,” she said.

“Your already taken care of Ms. Spears,” the bartender said

“What are you talking about?  I haven’t paid it yet,” she said still holding out her credit card.

“No, you didn’t, but Mr. Timberlake did,” the bartender said before turning to service some other customers.

“Damnit Justin,” Britney said under her breath, and then walked out of the club.

The whole ride back to the hotel, Britney was wondering what Justin was up too.  She just couldn’t believe that he would have paid her tab and there not been some reason as to why.

“You alright there Brit?” one of her dancers asked as they drove.

“Yeah, I’m just thinking,” she replied.

“About what.  You’ve been awfully quite since we left the club.  You sure there isn’t something bothering you?”

“Nope, nothing’s bothering me.  I’m just thinkin’ about stuff,” she said, then returning her gaze out the window.

When Britney walked into her room, she turned on the light and laid her purse down on the table right inside the door.

When she walked into the living room, she was startled to see someone sitting in the in the chair with no lights on.

“Who’s there?”  she questioned somewhat scared of who could be in her room.

“An old friend,” Justin said.

Britney went and turned the light on and sure enough, it was Justin sitting in the chair with a drink in his hand.

“Justin you scared the shit out me!  What the fuck are you doing in my room anyway,” she yelled.

“Well you’re welcome.  Is that the kind of thanks I get for paying your tab,” he said with a smirk.

“I didn’t ask you to pay my tab.  Just because you’re dumb enough to pay it, isn’t my problem.  It’s yours.  Now what the hell are you doing here?” she said.

“Well, I came by to see if you would like to dance,” he said standing up and walking towards the middle of the large room.

“And how do you plan on dancing with no music,” she said just staring at him.

“Like this,” he said pulling a remote control out of his pocket and turning on some Luther Vandross.

“So it really is a control in your pocket.  You’re not that happy to see me,” Britney said laughing at her own joke.

Justin laughed, “You think you’re so funny Spears.  Shut up and get over here and dance,” he said holding his arms out.

“Oh alright, one dance,” she said walking over to him and taking his hands.

“You know if you wanted to dance, why didn’t you come up,” she said as they danced.

“I didn’t want to intrude.  You were spending some quality time with your dancers.  I know how much you enjoy that.  I wasn’t going to ruin that for you,” he said as his hand started to rub the small of her back.

“What are you trying to do Justin, seduce me?” she said pulling away from him a little, but just enough that she could look into his eyes.

“Maybe, then again maybe not,” he said.

No sooner, than he finished his sentence he pulled away from her and started towards the door.

“Good night Britney.  Thanks for the dance,” he said and he started to open the door.

Britney still stood in the middle of the living room.

“That’s it.   You break into my room, scare the shit out me, ask me to dance and then leave after one damn dance,” she yelled at him while walking towards him.

“Good night Britney,” he said then started to walk out the door.

“What do I look like Justin?  A fucking piece of meat that you can just toy with when ever you fucking feel like it.  I’m not to be played with Justin.  This is what got you in trouble last time, playing with women,” she yelled at him as he walked out.

He stopped dead in his tracks turned around and just stared at her.

“Fuck you Britney.  You think that I played with you.  I never played with your emotions.  I never played with your emotions,” he yelled back at her.

As he walked towards her, he slammed the door closed behind him and then started yelling some more.

“Other women, yeah I played with them.  But you want to know why I played with them.  I was trying to find something in them that I had only found in one person.  I was trying to recreate something that couldn’t be recreated.  I was trying to live something that I couldn’t get back anymore.  So don’t ever say that I played with your emotions, because I would have moved heaven and hell for you.  So don’t ever say that I played you.”

By the time, he finished yelling at her, he was standing right in front of her.

They were just staring into one another’s eyes, desperately trying to read what the other was thinking.  Then Britney decided to take matters into her own hands.

She leaned up and kissed him.

He pulled away rather quickly, but after a few awkward seconds, he kissed her again, this time with passion.

They eventually made it to the bedroom, where they spent the night reintroducing themselves to each other.

The next morning, Britney awoke to Fe pounding on the door.

“Britney,” Fe said from outside the door.

“Hold on Fe, I’ll be right there,” she yelled while trying to find her robe.

“What the big deal, banging on my door so early in the morning,” Britney said when she let Fe in the door.

“Morning?  Britney, it’s one in the afternoon.  You were supposed to be at a radio interview an hour ago.  What the hell happened?” Fe said desperately trying to get stuff ready for her to leave.

“Brit’s what this on the bed,” Fe said from the bedroom.

“I don’t know.  I can’t really see it right now Fe,” Britney said with a toothbrush in her mouth.

“It’s a rose, with a note attached to it,” Fe said.

“Don’t touch it,” Britney yelled back. “I’ll be done in a second!”

Britney came running out of the bathroom to see what it was.

It was a pink rose, with a little note attached to it.

Britney picked up the note and read it,

            Brit,

Last night was beautiful, just like you.  I hope to see you soon!

                        J

After Britney finished reading the note Fe asked, “Brit is there anything that you want to tell me?”

Britney just looked at her with the biggest smile on her face, “He’s coming back Fe.  He’s finally coming back.  My rock is back.”

“That’s great Britney,” Fe said hugging her.

“Well, come on, I’ve got a radio interview to do,” Britney said just bursting with energy.

When she arrived at the venue after the interview, she went straight to her dressing room.  When she opened the door, she found it full of flowers.

On the vanity was a letter.

Dear Brit,

This is to make up for leaving so early this morning.  I’m sorry that I had to leave so early, but you know how it goes.  I had to make an early run to the studio to work on some stuff that was bouncing around in my head.  Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the dance last night it was wonderful.  And the next time you need to have a night out, drinks are on me, as long as I’m your date for the evening.  I love you Britney.  Always have, Always Will.

Love,

J

As Britney laid the letter down, she turned around, wiped her tears way, and then picked up her cell phone.

“Speak,” he said.

“You can buy me drinks anytime,” she said to him.
